Ratchet and Clank: Ratchet & Clank is the first PlayStation 2 game from Insomniac Games, who brought us Spyro the Dragon, one of the PS one's best loved characters. In Ratchet & Clank, Insomniac presents two characters that look destined to build on the appeal of its reptilian celebrity, and moves the action from an ancient world of legend and castles to a futuristic galaxy where Ratchet uses his space ship to traverse between the planets. Combining action-adventure, exploration, puzzle-solving and combat, this game sees Ratchet, a young mechanic with a reckless love of adventure, and his straight-laced sidekick Clank scouring the solar system for Chairman Drek so they can put the kibosh on his malign plans for the galaxy. And to do this? Weapons, weapons and then more weapons! It's Ratchet & Clank's arsenal of guns and high-tech gadgets that really lie at the heart of this title - over 30 are included in the game. Shoot through the solar system, face-off with some bad-ass bosses and blow up everything that stands in your way - now, that's gotta be an invitation you can't refuse!
The young Ratchet harbours dreams of striking out on a big adventure. Stranded on a forgotten planet, he longs to put his technical know-how to good use and mentally pictures himself engaging in all kinds of hare-brained schemes. But judgement day comes quicker than he imagines when a ship is shot down near his home carrying a curious robot dissident. It turns out that Clank, a diminutive robot with a social conscience, has uncovered a plan by the ruler of Belchworld, Chairman Drek, to build the ultimate planet - comprising the best bits of other planets in the galaxy, regardless of what the residents of these planets think! All Ratchet's birthdays have come at once - fate has brought the duo together and it's up to Ratchet & Clank to stop Chairman Drek in his inter-galactic tracks.
Armed with an impressive rack of weaponry, including such awe-inspiring and cool-sounding tools such as the Bomb Glove, Pyrocitor, Suck Cannon and Devastator, your mission takes in ocean planets, floating space stations and giant alien cityscapes as you try and contain Drek and his minions while (but of course) avoiding your own grisly death. Extra boost power comes courtesy of Clank, who's attached firmly to your back and can be transformed into a helipack, thrusterpack and hydropack at various junctures during the mission. Indeed, this is a game where everything and everyone has an extra dimension - there's real depth that's not usually found in 3D action games.
Whether you're big on graphics and environments, you enjoy the power of wielding weapons of mass destruction, or you simply love a good old fashioned fight between good and evil, Ratchet & Clank will fire your imagination and get you, as Insomniac so succinctly puts it, 'blowing the crap out of enemies'. tommyyy | in the leval when u get the wepon that turn u into a robot at the beginning to save time shoot a visi bomb over the forcefeild and hit the button to save time this will effect the game but it will get u the gadget but not open doors | |

dnoodle | At the robot plant, turn into giant clank. Then defeat all the enemies in the middle of the platform. Then walk of a cliff and when you come back, you wont loose any health. This ts also an good way of getting bolts. | |

Gamer Guru | To beat the last Drek you need 3 things; the DEVESTATOR, the GADGETRON PDA, and a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY. After you beat the giant robot part you'll be fighting just with normal Rachet. Now, do you know that by double tapping triangle, you can swicth back to your last weapon? Well now you do.Take out your SWINGSHOT(sorry i didn't mention that), and go across the platforms up ahead. Immediatly get your DEVASTATOR out and pound him(i can't really remember his attacks. i know, im useless right?). If you hit him every time you should still have 3 shots left so get our SWINGSHOT and keep moving until you get to the next island. repeat the process and then head for the next and final platform(you will need to buy more ammo after you run out. It will cost 2000 on the PDA). On the last island you will need to hit a button w/ powerslam and attack that $%&**( %^#@$&! YOU WILL NEED TO BUY LOTS OF AMMO. The easy way is to go along the outer grindrail and shoot. There should be an attack you need to jump over so put that before jumping the rails. He might also send out bombs or minions so wait for the attack you jump over to start shooting again(jumping attack will wipe out baddies). Sometime in between, he should hit the powerslam button two more times. Once you beat him you should be able to hit a button and blow up his world. YOU'VE BEATEN THE GAME!!!! Now after credits you can go to before you beat Drek and fight him again or start CHALLENGE MODE! In this type of game you get to start the game over but with all of your weapons still AND you can buy new GOLD WEAPONS with money and GOLD BOLTS. Congrats! Have fun in CHALLENGE MODE!!! | |

If you have the taunter and the item which inables you to turn into a robot. Get the item which makes you turn into a robot and use it at blackwater city - Before the hoverboard race. None of the other racers will be there. Use the taunter through the track to get loads of bolts. | |

the Hacker | flying ratchet
When you have the hover pack, equip it and hover by double tapping R1. Then, while you're hovering, pause and change your pack to the heli pack. If done correctly, ratchet will still be hovering without a pack! P.S. ratchet will stay like this until you enter something, swing your wrench, or jump. | |

turn on your hologuise next to captain qwarks trailer and enter the hoverboarding contest. when you are inside u can run around at free will, avoid hoverboards if u touch one u will start the race. run around the track till u get to the large platform with lots and lots of boxes on stand underneath it roughly central and turn on your taunter, it will break the boxes and all the bolts will come down, providing the boxes are not on screen this will work anywhere on the race track but thats the best place. stick an elastic band on the o button and get a good nights sleep and wake up rich. | |
