Baseball, like golf, is a simple game to recreate on a console. You have pitchers, who pitch; batters, who bat; and fielders, who do everything else. Being this simple means that baseball is the only team sport known to man where every single game-related action has an accompanying statistic. Every single one. This makes it an ideal sport for conversion to the world of videogames.
High Heat Baseball exploits baseball's statistical overload by making nearly every aspect of the game customisable. You can tweak anything from the speed of the pitches to the frequency of injuries, providing ample opportunity to customise the game to suit your abilities. What's more, there are plenty of game modes to enjoy, including All-Star Games, a two-on-two challenge mode, and the self-explanatory 'Home Run Derby'. All told, this is a solid baseball sim with enough options to entice the curious and delight the connoiseur.
Cheat mode:
Pause game play and press Square(2), Circle(2), L1, R1. A sound will confirm this portion of the code. Then, press L1 + L2 + R1 + R2. The "Ball Cannon" (set pitch physics) and "Game State" (edit game parameters) options will now be unlocked.
Fights:
Hold Square after your batter is beaned and he will charge the pitcher and start a fight. Your player will be ejected.
