At the main menu hold L1, L2, R1, R2, and rotate the the L3 button until you hear the name Devil May Cry.
This cheat unlocks all images, galleries, and costumes.
To pick a costume, go to the pick difficulty menu, which is located before you start the mission, there will be a picture of dante. Push over and he will have different pictures of himself. When you find a picture that you like, push start.
You'll start with that costume on. You can play as Dantes' evil brother as one of the costumes. (Dantes' evil brother has the same moves as you because it's only a costume, but he does have his sword, which is cool!)

Nevermind, I found out myself. When useing VERGIL, your best defense is never your offense. That teleporty-thingie is the ultimate defense, 'cuz if you teleport right before an attack hits you, you can pretty much keep teleporting one time after the next and so on. Then the attacks pretty much go through you. Except for the ICE BALL-thing that the yellow eyed one shoots.
