Kill the spell book by standing behind the box on the right and casting Expelliarmus. The book will shoot out sparks and jump up each time you shoot. When it is finished having the hissy fit, it will sit back on the floor silent again. Shoot again and quickly go back behind the box for safety. It will take a few times but it worked for me.
After this, Ron goes through a passage in the wall behind the book.

First day on term
I've got to the point when Harry has climbed up a box and jumped on the bookcases to press a switch. The staircase appeared and Harry climbed it. Now a book is attacking and I'm trying to cast Flipendo and hide but die all the time. Grateful for any hints!

to get past the hinkypunks you hold the light on them (lumos duo) and they will flicker then flipendo them, you might have to do it a few times.
i'm up to getting the carpe retractum spellbook but i'm stuck, can't go out any of the doos and harry won't jump

What about the Hinkypunks how do you get passed them or kill them?Its when Neville is trapped in the Muggle Studies Class.Then Ron has gets flung up on the balcony and goes through that door then there's another door that I went through and now I'm stuck.Even though you don't know me I really need some help if you can please.

If you walk into a room with book cases go and search in them and you should find a bertie bot every flavor bean. Collect as many as you can then leave the room when you walk back in search the room for beans they will be in the same spots (bookcases etc.) you can walk in and out of the room as many times as you like giving you unlimited beans!!!
