Hey three headed dog lover,
L1 big help here, in fact I think you can evn block the fire spray. However the fire balls are a quick R3 away - evade - otherwise your dead. Once you kill the Dog you will receive the golden reflective fleec that once you pull the lever you need to use to deflect the fire ball to find your exit. Honest no super strategy here, Block, Knock and rock his ass out till you get your just rewards. Good luck.

Unlock HD mode
Press R1, R2, R3, Circle and Square at the same time, before the 'Sony Computer Entertainment Presents' screen. The letters on the screen will turn purple as confirmation.
