If you have successfully activated a cheat, a string of text will pop up about 75% of the way down the screen for about 2 seconds. All cheats have to be explicitly off. For example, once you have activated the giants cheat, the players will be giants until you re-enter the cheat. Active cheats are saved as part of the saved games.
