oh please tell me the solution to this problem! No one i mean NO ONE in my household or anyone i know knows how to do this. im counting on any of you who know to not just sit there and watch me grieve over this simple question and lend me a hand? :) i would really appreciate it if you do!

Hey Can anyone tell me why this is happening: i bought the sims 2 apartment life and it wont work heres how by steps

1.i open sims to and hit play
2. it loads into the neighborhood
3. i click on my lot and try to go in to build somthing
4. its starts loading at the loading screen
4(continued). by the time it reaches the fourth bar it Freezes. i havnt waited but im guessing if i waited long enough it would have either crashed or just stayed there frozen and immovable. so can anyone please tell me why the loading screen wont load or how to try to find a solution to the problem? thank you
