Super Smash Brothers: Super Smash Brospits Nintendo's biggest stars against each other in an all-out slugfest. Cheat Codes
Alternate costumes:
Press C-Left, C-Right, C-Up, or C-Down at the character selection screen.
Highlight Mario and press C-Right and Mario will wear Wario's costume.
Highlight Luigi and press C-Right and Luigi will wear his costume from the
original Super Mario Bros.
Highlight Mario and press C-Left and Mario will be wearing his costume from
the original Mario Bros.
Fight as Captain Falcon:
Complete the game in under twenty minutes under any difficulty setting.
Then, defeat Captain Falcon.
Note: For the Japanese version, successfully complete the game as any
character under any difficulty level and number of lives. Then, defeat
Captain Falcon.
Fight as Jigglypuff (Purin):
Complete the game using any character under any difficulty level and number
of lives. Then, defeat Purin.
Fight as Ness from Earthbound (Mother 2):
Successfully complete the game under the normal difficulty level and three
lives without continuing. Then, defeat Ness when he appears.
Fight as Luigi:
Successfully complete the Bonus 1 "Break The Target" with the eight original
characters and one bonus characters. This can be done during Bonus 1
practice. Then, defeat Luigi. If you lose the match, complete Bonus 1 again
with any character for a rematch.
Classic Mushroom Kingdom stage:
Successfully complete the game with all eight original characters under the
normal difficulty setting and three lives. Continues may be used. The Classic
Mushroom Kingdom stage will be available under versus mode.
Character preview:
Hold Z and press the Analog-stick at the character biography screen.
Alternate congratulations screen:
Begin game play in one player mode using any character, difficulty setting,
and number of lives. If you reach a total score of 1,000,000 points or more,
an "Incredible" message will appear on the congratulations screen.
Music test:
Successfully complete Bonus Games 1 and 2 with all characters, including the
secret ones. This can be done during Bonus 1 and 2 practice. A music test
option will appear on the data screen.
Borrow a life:
Begin a team game under versus mode. Press Start if you lose a life to take
a life from your partner, if he or she has more than one remaining.
Alternatively, press A+ B + Z + Start.
Item switch:
Play the game in versus mode at least fifty times to unlock the item switch
option.
Note: For the Japanese version, use any character to record one hundred kills
to unlock an item switch menu. This menu allows various weapons to be toggled
and control the frequency in which they appear.
To get the "Item switch" option easier, use the following trick with two
controllers. Go to multi-player mode and set it on damage 200% and stock 1.
Have player one choose Kirby, and any character for player two. Press R to
have Kirby grab the player two, then press R. Player two should die. Repeat
this until you get the "Item switch" option.
Extra points for each level:
The following trick may be used to get an extra 100 points in each level.
Defeat your opponent in one player mode. Press L to taunt just before he
dies. If your character is in a taunt when the camera zooms in for the
scores, 100 points will be awarded for the fighter's stance.
Losing points:
You will lose points after losing all lives and continues.
Control credits screen:
Press one of the following buttons during the credits. Press Analog-stick to
change the angle and move the target. Press Start + A to scroll faster, or
to return to normal speed. Select a name with the target and press A to view
details about their work in the game. Press B to pause or resume the
scrolling.
Self-destruct:
Hold Z or R (block) until your character explodes.
Sudden Death:
Play a time limit battle. Make sure both of the characters have the same
amount of lives when the timer runs out.

Unlock Characters, Items, Arenas, and Make a Good Character | Characters -
Jigglypuff: Beat the game in any way.
Captain Falcon: Beat the game on Very Easy with any character with any lives in 12 minutes.
Luigi: Beat the Practice Bonus 1 with the 8 Original Characters.
Ness: Beat the game with your best character on Normal with 3 lives without any continues.
Bowser: Beat the game on Very Hard with Mario and Luigi 6 times with 3 lives.
Ganon: Beat the game with Link and Oni Link on Very Hard with 3 lives.
Oni Link: You must have an expansion pack to do this. Beat the game on Very Hard with Link with 1 life.
Princess Peach: Beat the game with Bowser on Hard with 2 lives.
Falco, Slippy, and Peppy: Beat the game with Fox on Hard with 2 lives.
Walugi: Get 1,000,000,000 points at the end of the game.
Items -
Mega Raygun: Beat the game with 1,000,000 points (does 10 damage each time).
Nintendo Banner: Beat the game as Mario with a perfect score.
SSB Plushies: Beat the game with every character with a perfect score.
Arenas -
Mushroom Kingdom: Beat the game with the 8 Original Characters.
Nintendo Factory: Beat the game as Princess Peach on Very Hard with 3 lives.
Make a Good Character: At the start screen, hold L and R and Press C-UP 3 times, C-DOWN 2 times, C-LEFT 2 times, and C-RIGHT 1 time. This cheat requires all secrets and a Gameshark so all Gameshark codes are on. The cheat Takes Mario, Bowser, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Kirby, Samus, Captain Falcon, Ness, Waluigi, Falcon, Slippy, and Peppy and mixes them into one character. | |

Unlock Ryu | To play as Ryu from Street Fighter, beat the game with the following characters in the following order: Pikachu, Captain Falcon, Samus, Mario, and Fox. Do NOT have Ness.
It is a sacrifice, but Ryu kicks really hard and his regular punch does 6 damage.
His shinkuu Hadoken does up to 42 damage, just like DK's giant punch (B Charge), V+B does Hurricane Kick, and ^+B does Dragon Punch. ENJOY HIS GOOD ATTACKS! | |

To get a lot of characters you need | Get to the secret level (Mushroom Kingdom) and fight Pikachu. Stand on a pipe and go down it when Pikachu uses his B and down attack.
When the battle ends there will be another character select screen and in it will be Toad (from Mario), Cubone (from Pokemon), Wario, Peach, Darth Vader, James Bond, Mickkey Mouse, Ganon, Croc, and Frogger. | |

Unlock Master Hand | To get Master Hand, beat the game five times on Hard with DK. Then go to Training Mod, as DK and make Pokeballs until Mew comes out.
Then punch Mew. Your hand will turn white and grow huge. You now have Master Hand instead of DK. | |

VGK | Glitch:
Bigger Explosion with laser gun (item)
Easier with 2 people playing
1.Start a versus match with 2 human players as fox
2.Set the item switch to laser guns only
3.Pick a level with a long flat platform (Hyrule Castle or Fox's ship on the left side/front of ship)
4.Start the level
5.Get a laser gun item
6.Have one Fox pick up the laser gun
7.Put each Fox at each edge of the platform(if you did Fox's ship, make sure each character is at the same height, so a straight projectile could hit them.)
8.Have the Fox with the gun item shoot it, and then immediately afterwards use his special shield (Down+B)
9.Have the other Fox put up his special shield too
10.The laser should bounce between each shield, until one shield breaks.
11.The normal plasma explosion from the gun will grow to an enormous size
P.S. Sorry if it doesn't work. I only tried it like 2 or 3 times. It happened at Fox's ship. Also, if this meant anything, Fox was 1st player, Samus was 2nd player, and the 2nd Fox was 3rd player. The 2nd Fox had the gun, and the 1st Fox's shield broke. | |
