You need the silver arrow to defeat gannon.
I always defeated him by constantly using my sword hoping that it hits him. Once he turns brown, finish him off with the silver arrow.

Man, it's been so long since I've played this game. I'm about to start playing it again. I'm 26 years old. I used to play it a lot back when I was real young. It took me seven years to beat it. I beat it back when I was like fourteen years old. I just couldn't get past level seven. I didn't know which way you had to go exactly. My cousin and i search all over his junky room for the paper that came with the game that lets you know how to beat level seven. I was finally able to finish it. Now, I'm married with a newborn son. Am I really ready for this part of my life to start over again. I don't think I need the stress. I'll just have to find out.
