to get a nutria you have to go and see gordie puck in university
sleeping guy then you have to get the map and give it to him (is in oldsaltys river boat were the wheel is .then go back to him the u have to go and see det man d and then he give you the keys and the boat is down the stairs next to the city apartment there is the boat drive around in it then u will find nutria island the u just put in pocket then take it the carnival girl

you get the thesis by studying at the computer in that place where the guy with the wheelchair is always at. (hint: it's by some big golden globe in Urbania) You can get the hat online by buying a computer, or using the one at the coffee shop in Simquarter. The bush by the museum is where you usually see Luthor L. Bigbucks stands in Simquarter, right outside the museum. You find the map in Olde Salty's riverboat (go up the stairs in the casino exit through the other door in that apartment and find another door and climb up the ladder.
