i need help. i beet the game once but it got erased by my brother so now im starting all over and im at airs rock and i need the whirlwind psynergy but i cant get it. its just not there. am i supposed to do something to get it. please help i need to get past airs rock

Hey!!!! My game is not good... i dont know what happens... it's just like when i am defeated by any enemy,the enemy is defeated but not me... and my life is 0... when i press A at the game(when outside the battle) the Color of the life bar is also the color of the settings... I'm at the part where I'm supposed to rescue Master Hammet from the theif Dodonpa. And i'm at the point where I have to use Whirlwind to get rid of the leaves or ivy. I dunno what it is, but I need to use Whirlwind to get rid of the leaves/ivy to unleash a switch to open this tightly locked door that leads to Dodonpa and Hammet. There's a problem though! When I was fighting a couple of monster and theifs on the way sneaking to Dodonpa, my Whirlwind dissapeared and I don't know how to get it back so I can use it to get rid of the leaves/ivy.
