Chaolin, I have found out that if you get your chao into a couple school lessons, get it to really like your character, and get its levels really high, it will do some special dance before the karate match. I was able to do this once before, but I deleted my chao information from my memory card. I forget EXACTLY how I did it (it was mostly by accident, and I did not use CCG back then), but try what I've listed above.

Dave,Benny,I know how to get stamina up faster. Go to the black market and go to the very bottom of what they have to sell. There should be a mushroom buy it and feed it to your chao. Each time they eat some of it there stamina goes up 2 or 3 times
