To get to hook tail castle you must shoot koops in the oppisite direction of the button,then make maroi go to the other button.Let go of the x button and when the button lights up make mario hit it with his hammer. A MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!!

There are two ways to defeat Hooktail. The first is to find the "Sound FX R" badge (it is a round, red badge with a musical note on it). It should be in the same area where you found the Black Chest; equip it (notice that he now makes cricket sounds...). Or, as a sure-fire way to make sure you can beat him without the badge, switch partners at the beginning of the fight. for some odd reason, this seems to work every time... also, when you get to the area where you find Ms. Mowz the first time, jump off the left side (toward the sreen, however), and go through the grates to retrieve a Life Shroom, which will realy help.
