In Celdon City go to the Hotel. Notice it looks like a Pokemon Center. It used to be the old Pokecenter until they moved. Go to where the PC would normaly be in a Pokecenter. Press (A) here, it will go to the log in screen like there was a PC there.

Actually you can catch mew without a gameshark and this is REAl...I promise.

Ok. you might need to start your game over unless you haven't beat the kid with a slowpoke in celedon or the kid in the grass across from nugget bridge in celedon. Anyway go to Celedon city and follow these steps.
1st beat all the people on nugget bridge then go strait to the grassy patch north. Catch an abra and go strait to the pokemon center and withdraw him to your party. Now you can beat any of the trainers to bills house EXCEPT the kid with the slowpoke and the trainer in the grassy area accross the river from nugget bridge. Once you have a clear path to bills house go back to the pokemon center to heal and then save your game just in case. go up nugget bridge and turn directly left (your left) go down one step and push start right before the trainer in the grass see's you. select abra and teleport. when it cuts back to the game the train will get an ! above his head but you should teleport out before he fights you. now your start button shouldn't be able to work. go starit to the kid with the slowpoke and walk in front of him but far enough away so he has to walk to you or else the game will freeze. beat him and your start menu should work again keep going torward bills house (but don't go in) just walk accross the bridge and head back to celedon trough the narrow way. half way back the start menu should pop up just push b to exit it and the game will start flashing and you will "run into" a level 7 mew that knows pound.

Hints/Strategies

Hint for winning coins.

At the Game Corner, most of the slot machines have the same odds, but there is a pattern in the three wheels that spin. I have had a lot of success using the following rhythm:

ONE - e - and - a - TWO e - and - A

where the ONE, TWO, and A of two is where you push the button to stop the wheels. The tempo at which I've had the most success is quarter note = 94 bpm.

For those of you not musically inclined, "One-e-and-a" is just a verbal way to express the sixteenth-note division of a beat. Basically, each beat is divided up into four parts. So if you put a metronome (http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/metronome.php) on 94, that's the beat. So say "One-e-and-a" within each beat, and that's the division. It's basically putting all three beats in order, but jumping the third slightly.

Use the preceding pattern and you'll have success at the slots. I've gotten a few BAR's and no 777's using this method, but if you have a lot of time on your hands and want coins, this is the way to do it!

How to cach the pokemon: 'M'
First you need to talk to the man in pewter hwo teached you to cach pokemon. After that, fly to canibar iceland and surf on the right side where land and water meets. Surf ut and down until you meet a pokemon on level 0 (It's not on level 80 or 172 it's on level 0! That pokemon on 80 and 172 is MISSINGNO. You don't need to cach him!)Cach the 'M' and make it learn new TM or HM moves. (Don't keep the old ones, it will make the game stopp!)THen use a rare candy and it will evelove to a Kangashkan !! (It will keep your moves and it will be able to learn the kangashkan moves to!) !! Enjoy !!!

Big Pokemon
If you have 100 masterballs you can catch big pokemon. Go to the mister neer the last house in the second village. Talk to him end fly to cinabar Island. If youve done right. Strong pokemon and rare pokemon will come and atack you from level 100. Like: Goldduck and Hitmonlee!!!

To get 100 master balls go to silph co office building and complete that and after you beat Giovanni go talk to the president of silph co(he should be in the same rrom)when he gives you a master ball get out of silph co and put the master ball as yor sixth item then fly to Viridian cit and talk to the guy that says"now i had my coffe and i fell great."then fly to cinnabar island and go all the way to the right and surf when your half on land and half on water and fihgt a missingno~NOTE:don't catch him.when you get on land look at your sixth item and you should have a symbol by it .It means you have 100.

Boss Tactics
Here are your best bets for beating the Pokemon Gym Leaders: Brock: Use water or grass Pokemon against this rock trainer.
Misty: Use grass pokemon or electric to defeat this gym leader.
Leiutenant Surge: use a rock or ground pokemon and he's toast.
Erika: Use fire pokemon or flight against this plant lover and shatter her dreams of fighting you again.
Sabrina: Use bug or ghost against this psychomaniac and she is a goner.
Koga: This poison pokemon lover will be deafeted easily by using psy pokemon.
Blaine: This fire trainer will use fire pokemon against you so you can use water or ice.
Final boss: Giovanni, the team rocket leader, is the final gym leader - use water, ice, plant and he's out of there (and talk to him again and he says something to you).
In the Indigo Plateu you find 5 pokemon masters. Use this pokemon lineup for a better chance of success: Plant
Water, Plant, Flight, Ice
Psy
Ice or Dragon

Celadon City Slot Tip
All of the slot machines have different odds, which change every time. Play each machine 4 times, and if it hits 2 or more, then stick with that one, because it's probably hot. If the slow machine forces you really close to a 777 or Bar Bar Bar it will probably give you one or the other soon.

Clone Pokemon
Note: This trick requires a nother Game Boy, link cable and Pokemon game. Trade the Pokemon to be cloned, and have the other player select a Pokemon that he or she does not care about. Trade them, and make sure the player receiving the bad Pokemon can see the other player's screen. When the Game Boy that receives the good Pokemon's displays "Waiting", get ready to shut the other Game Boy off. When the "Waiting" message disappears, turn off the Game Boy that is receiving the bad Pokemon. When the "Trade completed" message appears, turn off the remaining Game Boy. Both games will have the same good Pokemon when they are turned back on. Note: Do not attempt this trick with any saved games you wish to keep, as it can corrupt those files if done incorrectly.

Cut Down Grassy Areas
Once you get the HM "cut", your pokemon can cut down grassy areas. Use "cut" and it will cut a two by two area. Wild Pokemon will not attack you in the area you cut.

Duplicate Items
To get 99 of any item, first put the item you want to multiply in the sixth item slot. Now use FLY and go to Viridian City. Talk to the old man almost all the way north of the town. When he asks if you are in a hurry, say no and watch him catch a weedle. Right after that, fly to Fuchsia city. Make your way south and, when you you reach the water's edge, use SURF and make your way to Seafoam island. When you get to seafoam island, swim up and down the beach until you run into a Pokemon called "M" (Missingno.) Once you see him, kill him or run away. DO NOT CATCH HIM! After that, you should have multiple copies of your sixth item!

Easy Level Gain
To easily gain experience, simply switch the Pokémon you want to train with the top Pokémon on your list. When you go into battle the Pokémon will pop out. You can then switch to another Pokémon. Once you win the battle the beginning Pokémon and the fighting Pokémon will both gain experience points.

Fight Land Creatures in Water
To fight creatures that normally live on land in water, go to the water around Cinnabar Island or Seafoam Islands (The only place you can be randomly attacked while swimming.) Swim along the shore of any island and you will fight land creatures. (You have to swim on a place where the square is half land and half water.) Instead of fighting a set group of monsters in the water, you actually fight monsters from the last place you were. So to get safari zone monsters, you need to go to the section of the safari zone with that monster, let your time run out, then go to the coast. Using this trick I have caught Kangaskhan, Scyther, and Tauros!

Fight the Elite Four More Than Once
First collect all eaight badges. Then go through victory road. Next beat the Elite Four. After that your Pokemon will become Hall of Famors. Then the credits will show, following by your game resetting. Go back to your Continued Game. You will be back at home. Then fly back and beat them again and again. This helps your higher leveled Pokemon becaus you can still get a few thousand exp.

Get Amnesia Psyduck
Have you ever wondered how you can get the elusive Amnesia technique? Well, it's hidden deep in Pokemon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. Unlocking it will take a while, but it's definitely worth it. You have to register ALL 151 Pokemon in the Hall of Fame. Whenever you beat a tournament (or Gym Leader Castle), your six Pokemon are entered into the Hall of Fame. It doesn't matter whether you use rental Pokemon or your own, but you can't have any gaps. Once you've filled it all up, you are awarded a free Psyduck bonus Pokemon that knows the Amnesia technique. You can now upload it to your Game Boy pak and use it in your quest.

Get Mewtwo
After you have gotten all eight of your badges you need to go beat the pokemon league. The credits will roll and then the menu pops up again. DO NOT RESET THE GAME!!!! Go to Cerulean Citygo north to the brige where you faced 5 trainers before the path to Bill's house. Turn left and there will be a large area of water. Surf until you get to a cave. You will find Mewtwo in that cave.

Get MissingNo.
Warning! Catch missingno in the red version may delete your old game and prevent you from saving any other games. To get MissingNo (a glitch) go to Cinnabar Island and go into the Pokémon Research Labratory and trade with anyone in the first room. Then leave the Lab and go to the EAST of Cinnabar Island and surf up and down on the part where the land meets the water. Eventually the battle screen will come up and the screen goes black for about 5 seconds. Once you find him I suggest you use a Level 30 to 40 Pokemon. This is because Missing No., even at Lv. 80, has a VERY low defense rating. So get him down pretty low. Even at low he is still extremely difficult to catch. So next get a Pokemon that knows a sleep move and put him to sleep. Follow this up with a couple Ultra Balls and you should have him. NOTE: Catching MissingNo. may cause minor glitches. Also note that if he evolves (i.e., by receiving a Rare Candy) he will turn into a Khangiskahn.

Get Surfing Pikachu
Did you know that you can get a Pikachu that knows the Water technique Surf? Here's how you can get it (outside of winning a Nintendo Pokemon contest): Surfing Pikachu is hidden in Pokémon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. To teach your Pikachu Surf (a technique it can normally not learn), you need to first unlock the R-2 (Round 2) mode. Then do the following:
Enter the R-2 Prime Cup's Master Ball division (you have to beat the first three divisions first).
Assemble a team that contains a Pikachu that does not yet know Surf. You HAVE to use a Pikachu from your Game Boy game. You cannot unlock Surfing Pikachu using a Rental Pokémon.
Do not register your team! Pick it directly from your Game Boy cartridge. You now have to beat the Prime Cup's Master Ball division using a three-Pokémon team that always contains Pikachu. Pikachu has to be in every one of the eight battles.
You are not allowed to use any continues. If you do, you won't get Surfing Pikachu.
Once you have fulfilled all the above conditions, you are shown an award screen with Pikachu standing on a surfboard. From here on, Pikachu can use the Surf technique both in battle and during gameplay (Game Boy versions only). In Pokémon Yellow, you can now also access the hidden Surfing Pikachu mini-game on Route 19. There is also a GameShark code that lets you access Surfing Pikachu, but we advise against using it, since it can mess up your Pokédex and save data. It's not worth the trouble.

Get the Mimic TM
Buy a Pokedoll in Celadon Mart, then FLY to Saffron and talk to the Copycat. She will give you the Mimic TM.

Invisible Walls in Koga's Gym
If you look at the floors in Koga's Gym you will notice it has lines. In some spots you will see little gaps in the lines. These "gapped lines" are the invisible walls.

Level 100+ Pokemon
Follow these instructions to catch pokemon with really high levels. Talk to the old man in Viridian City who shows you how to catch pokemon.
Fly directly to Cinnabar Island.
Put your strongest pokemon on your team.
You might want to save now.
Surf on the shore where the land touches water.
Keep Surfing until you run into one of these strong pokemon.
These pokemon are well above level 100. Unfortunately, they will revert back to Level 100 if they gain any experience points. Rare Candy is the only thing that raises their level. They can be used in a two-player battle without losing their level, so have fun liquidating your friends!
NOTE: This is a bug in the game. It will not work in newer versions of Pokemon and may crash your game if you try it.

Only Way to Get Mew
We've seen so many fake Mew codes pop up on the web (and we get about 20 new fake Mew code submissions A DAY) that we've decided to add this following disclaimer to our codes section: According to Nintendo, Mew cannot be found or caught in Pokemon Yellow, Red, or Blue. Outside of a GameShark code (which may mess up your Pokedex and render the game incompatible with Pokemon Stadium), the #151st Pokemon remains a cool litte extra that is only handed out by Nintendo on special occasions, such as Mall Tours or Pokemon events. However, all those who want to catch a glimpse of the rare Pokemon can select Mew as a rental Pokemon in Pokemon Stadium for Nintendo 64 (but you cannot upload it to your Game Boy game). Note that Mew is just that -- a bonus Pokemon (albeit a very cool one that can learn all TMs) -- and not technically required to complete your Pokedex.

At the Game Corner there are secret coins lying around. You can get these coins by walking around and pressing the A button.

Ok everyone on pokemon red cheat websites say you either can only get from the mall tours and stuff or you only get it from the slowpoke dude.
Well what most people dont know is that if you do the exact same thing as in the slowpoke cheat only u use teleport and you go into mistys gym and fight the swimmer in her gym. now all you have to do is walk up the bridge and BANG!!! the start menu will pop up so press the b button and BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!xD
